A fatal, overnight crash that killed one and left two others in the hospital caused parts of I-95 to still be shut down Friday morning.
The crash happened around 2:20 a.m. near Northwest 119th Street on I-95 when a Dodge SUV driver lost control of the vehicle, slamming into a concrete wall, according to local media.
A black Honda sedan crashed into the dodge and several others who were standing in the road.
One woman was pronounced dead at the scene and two others who were injured were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.
Northbound I-95 traffic was being funneled through Northwest 103rd Street as of Friday morning.

Florida was ranked 23rd in data from Forbes Magazine that categorized states using crash data. Montana, South Carolina, and New Mexico were the top three states with the most dangerous roads in the United States, according to the numbers in that dataset.
There were approximately 394,967 crashes statewide in 2023 with 3,428 fatalities, according to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles’ Crash Dashboard which tallies crash data by vehicle type and differentiates between crashes with injuries and fatal crashes.
In Miami-Dade County, there were about 63,841 crashes in 2023 with 342 fatalities. In 2024, there have been 46,102 total crashes with 217 deaths and 22,620 injuries. There have been 1,414 total crashes involving pedestrians with 57 pedestrians that were killed as a result of those crashes, according to the data.
